Terms & Conditions

These terms explain how Knight Rush tournaments work. Please read them before registering.

Product content update: 14 August 2026 · Legal review items are marked below.

01

Platform nature

Knight Rush hosts free structured online chess tournaments. Games are played on Lichess. Knight Rush manages registration, access, results review, and official rankings.

Lichess hosts tournament games. Knight Rush does not guarantee uninterrupted availability of Lichess, internet connectivity, or other third-party services.

02

Eligibility, age and participation

Legal review required

Users must sign in with a verified Lichess account, confirm their free entry before registration closes, and enter only once per tournament event. Knight Rush may assign users to tournament batches for operational reasons.

Participants must satisfy any eligibility and age requirements shown for the relevant tournament and must be legally able to enter. No minimum age threshold is stated here until the applicable policy is approved.

Founder/legal review required: approve the age, guardian-consent, residency, and any additional eligibility wording before relying on this section operationally.

03

Account and identity

Users are responsible for using their own Lichess account. Lichess username or account mismatch may affect eligibility. Duplicate accounts may be disqualified.

Account details must be accurate. One participant must use one Knight Rush identity and one verified Lichess account. Account sharing, impersonation, duplicate entry, or participation through another person’s account may affect eligibility or result in disqualification.

Protected account and enforcement history may be retained and used to keep participation fair. Free tournament entry does not require additional identity details.

04

Changes and cancellation

Legal review required

Knight Rush may reschedule, cancel, split, merge, or modify tournaments for operational reasons. Existing tournament records and published results remain preserved.

A Sunday Blitz batch requires at least 5 eligible confirmed participants. If the minimum is not met after registration closes, the batch is cancelled before the Arena lifecycle. No refund process applies because entry was free.

05

Scheduling and batch assignment

Tournament batches may be created when needed. Each batch may have a participation limit. Users are assigned to one batch only and must play only in their assigned tournament or batch link. Joining a wrong batch or using another link may make the result ineligible.

Published start, expected end, registration, and link-unlock times are the intended schedule. Operational or third-party delays may affect actual timing. Additional batches may be created as registrations grow, and each participant competes only in the batch assigned in their dashboard.

06

Lichess team membership and tournament access

Where team membership is required, participants must submit a Lichess team join request from their verified account and wait for approval. Approval depends on confirmed registration, payment or free-entry status, eligibility, and the applicable access checks.

An assigned Arena link is personal to the participant’s batch and becomes available only after the configured unlock time. Participants must not use, request, or distribute another batch’s playing link. If an entitled link is temporarily unavailable, the participant should refresh or contact support.

07

Fair-play review

Lichess standings are provisional. Official results are published only after fair-play review. Knight Rush may disqualify players for suspected cheating, wrong account usage, wrong batch participation, duplicate participation, or rule violations. Review may take up to 72 hours.

Lichess may investigate or enforce its own rules independently. Knight Rush may also review tournament participation and result eligibility. Lichess action does not prevent Knight Rush from completing its own review, and Knight Rush review does not guarantee any particular Lichess action.

Disqualification or ineligibility may follow cheating, outside assistance, account sharing, multi-accounting, wrong-account or wrong-batch play, manipulated participation, abusive conduct, or other material rule violations. Participant-facing notices will not disclose internal evidence, audit material, or administrative notes.

A first confirmed cheating offense disqualifies the relevant entry and makes the offending Lichess account unusable on Knight Rush. One approved replacement account may be allowed. A second confirmed offense results in a permanent Knight Rush ban. An audited appeal and correction process remains available.

08

Results and rankings

Free tournaments have no cash awards. Standings remain provisional until fair-play review is complete; Knight Rush then publishes official rankings and winners.

09

Participant conduct and technical interruptions

Participants must act lawfully and respectfully and must not disrupt tournaments, misuse support channels, interfere with the platform, or attempt to bypass access, eligibility, batch, or fair-play controls.

Participants are responsible for a suitable device, browser, internet connection, and access to their verified Lichess account. Knight Rush may make reasonable operational decisions when technical interruptions, delayed external services, outages, or tournament-platform issues affect an event or individual participation.

10

Liability, privacy and data handling

Legal review required

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Knight Rush is not responsible for losses caused solely by participant equipment or connectivity, Lichess, or other services outside Knight Rush’s reasonable control. Nothing here excludes a liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Knight Rush processes account, registration, tournament-access, result-review, security, and support data as needed to operate tournaments and protect participants. Founder/legal review is required for the complete privacy notice, retention terms, and data-rights wording.

11

Changes, support, governing law and jurisdiction

Legal review required

Knight Rush may update these terms or tournament-specific rules. Material changes should be communicated through the site or relevant tournament area, and the version applicable to an entry should be determined using the approved policy.
